Verizon Wireless launch bonanza

Verizon is set to launch these four bad boys sometime in the next few weeks. They go from left to right, Samsung Juke, Blackberry Pearl, LG Venus, and LG Voyager.

The Juke (U470) is packed with 2GB of memory and A2DP bluetooth (thats stereo bluetooth), and a 1.3 megapixel camera.

The Pearl also has A2DP bluetooth along with a 3.5mm jack so you can plug any headphones in there, and a 2 megapixel camera.

The Venus (VX8800) has a miniSD expansion slot, dual screens with vibration feedback, A2DP bluetooth and a 2 megapixel camera to round this baby off.

The Voyager (VX10000) this beast has a huge touchscreen on the outside which then slides to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard and another screen, built in stereo speakers, A2DP bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, and my favorite full HTML browser.

Keep an eye out for these phones...they look to be the hot phones of the Christmas season.

I can has Viewty?

This is for all the LG Prada phone fans out there...introducing the KU990 a.k.a the "Viewty" don't ask about the nickname. Anyways this phone pretty much one-ups the Prada phone and "three-ups" the Prada phone in the camera department with a 5.1 megapixel camera...thats right 5.1 megapixel. Other features of the camera include auto-focus, 120fps video for ultra smoose video clips, and up to ISO800 sensitivity. Don't worry folks this phone also has the touchscreen thats all the rage these days along with 3G HSDPA data for ultra fast data transfers.

Set to launch in Europe any day now with no news on a US launch those of you wanting it bad enough is only a bid away (eBay).

Suggestions for new PC

Hi everyone. I'm preparing to build another computer within the next two months and I need opinions/help/suggestions on what components to use. I've been out of keeping myself updated on all the new stuff so please leave a comment on what I should use in my next computer.

First off I'm going to get another Shuttle.

Then the components...

Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core?

ATI or Nvidia card?

Western Digital or Seagate HD?

Corsiar, Crucial, Kingston, etc. RAM?

Intel and AMD should be announcing price cuts for their current CPUs to introduce their new lineup so I will be waiting for that before I make my decision on that.

So what do you think?

More Invitations

Got one more site to give out invitations to.

Moola.com
it is a site where you play games and win real money. They give you a penny, after each successful win of a game against another member your money is doubled (i.e. $.01 to $.02 t0 $.04 etc.) all the way up to over $10 million dollars. I'm not kidding. If you win you double up, if you lose you start all the way back at $.01. Its that simple.

I have THREE invites only. First come first serve and so forth.

Enjoy!

Invitations!

Hi everyone...sorry for the long hiatus...had finals and then summer classes to take care of. Anyways as a gift from me to whoever reads this I have a few invites to exclusive sites that I would like to give out to whoever wants them.

First up is Joost.com
It is a program that you download and then can watch tv shows that are streamed directly to your desktop. It is P2P networked and not live tv but they are continually expanding their show lineup.

Next is Pownce.com

It is a website where you can network with a bunch of your friends and send messages, files, etc. really fast.

Last is Pinecone Research

I only have ONE invite to this one...must be male and 18 or older. It is a legitimate online survey company that pays you to complete their surveys. I have been doing this for a while now and I've been getting paid consistantly.
You will NOT find any other way to sign up for this site online so get it while its here.

Feel free to go to the sites and check them out to see what they're all about.

I'll do my best to keep this blog updated consistantly.

Invites are first come first serve basis and they are limited.

Leave a comment, text me, IM me, email me whatever to get an invite.

House OKs 'pwning consumers gas' bill

It's about time. The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation authorizing the Federal Trade Commission to investigate and punish gasoline price gouging.

I'd go more into it but there's too much I have to say about this and not enough time so go ahead and hit the "Read" link for the full article. Hopefully this will lower the gas prices to a more realistic and affordable range.

Soccer freestyle Madness

Pretty sure this is some of the craziest soccer freestyle tricks that I've seen. Watch for the corner kick.

Using your neighbor's WiFi? Know that it's illegal?

Have you ever sat down at your computer only to find that your internet connection isn't working? Have you ever then proceeded to scan for wireless signals and found that your next door neighbor has wireless with no password?

Did you know that using someone else's wireless internet connection without their knowledge is illegal?

Well now you do. I'll admit when my internet was down in the past I've looked to see if anyone had an unencrypted router set up. But I've never used it for more than a single day and certainly not to download anything.

Due to legality and personal security it is recommended that if you have a wireless router set up in your house that you set a password on it for your safety. All it takes is for someone that knows what to do to come hitch a ride on your wireless signal and proceed to partake in illegal activity (underage porn, copyright violations, credit card numbers, identity theft, etc.).

If you are sharing your connection with your neighbor intentionally then please do the right thing and set a password to keep outsiders out. It does not take more than 5 minutes to set up a password on your router and if you don't know how to do it then you can either read the manual or give the manufacturer a call and they will be able to help you out.

Until next time...practice safe wireless surfing.

Apple releases 8-Core Mac Pro

Apple has officially announced the first consumer ready 8-Core computer. Available with 8-core or quad-core Intel Xeon processor running at speeds from 2.0Ghz to 3.0Ghz. One of the most configurable systems out so far. Some options include...

Intel Xeon quad or 8 core running @ 2.0-3.0Ghz
up to 16GB of RAM
up to 3TB of hard drive space (thats 3,000GB!)
up to two dvd burners
4 PCI Express slots for graphics bonanza

configured as such along with 2 30 inch Apple Cinema displays racked up the total to about $15,000.

A reminder that such a beast of a machine is not needed for an average user or even hardcore graphics/video designers/editors UNTIL software that has been optimized for 4 or 8 cores is released.

Until then have fun dreaming about how much downloading you'd be doing with that much storage space and how fast your apps are going to run with all that RAM.

My verdict? I'll stick with my 2002 model thank you very much. I'd even go for a 2006 model at that point but we'll wait and see what the STi model looks like.

*update

I have read that the STi is rumored to only be available in the Hatchback version ONLY.
Tis a sad day for Subaru WRX fans worldwide indeed.

7-Elevens to be Converted to Kwik-E-Marts

In what may be the best marketing move for a movie in recent times, Fox and 7-Eleven convenience stores are in the works of striking up a deal to convert 11 of their stores to Kwik-E-Marts as seen in The Simpsons.

To make the deal even sweeter you will also be able to buy select items as featured from Simpsons such as Krusty O's cereal, Buzz cola, and of course the delicious Squishees.

All I want to know is where these eleven stores are located and when they're gonna be converted.

HTC P4550 aka Kaiser

the ONE and only reason that I want to switch to AT&T/Cingular when this comes out "mid-year" this year.

I've been patiently waiting for THE one mobile device for me and this one fulfills all my desires in a mobile device.

The spec list is huge but I'll list only the goodies...
  • loaded with Windows Mobile 6 Professional...
  • ...meaning touch screen
  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA which means fast data transfers
  • slide out QWERTY board with flip up action
  • microSD/usb/bluetooth/and wifi 802.11b and g for connectivity anywhere
  • GPS
  • 3.omp camera with autofocus
  • secondary camera on face of phone for video-conferencing
here are some preproduction pictures courtesy of mml.com.tw

If and when I do decide to make the switch to AT&T/Cingular for this device I urge you to do the right thing and make the switch with me....DO IT.

Infiniti G37 Coupe

Thats right...37...not 35. The next generation G series will get its engine bored out an extra .2 liters (4.6mm) and compression raised to 11.0:1 for a 3.7 liter V6 with some excellent power gains. Estimated to have around 330hp and 271 lb-ft of torque this coupe will have some much needed power gains and equally upgraded are the 14-in. front rotors and 13.8-in. rear rotors to stop this sexy beast. In case you're wondering those are after market big brake kit sizes on this bad boy.

We'll see who comes out on top when this car is released and pitted against its direct rival the BMW 335i sedan/coupe which has an equally impressive 3.5 liter inline-6 that is twin turbo charged.

Enjoy the pictures courtesy of Autoblog

during testing in Arizona which is why its so dirty.

my verdict? I'm gonna have to go with the G35 coupe on this one. I like how the 35 has a more aggressive look with a few more blunt edges and aggressive fender flares. The 37 has everything rounded off, the headlights, the taillights, the entire front end, its all rounded off and seems soft and unaggressive. The integrated spoiler on the 37 also does not look like it belongs there and seems that its too small for the back end. The 35's spoiler was much better looking and fit nicely along the whole back end. I do like the big brakes and the side profile of the car but for some reason it reminds me more of a Nissan than it should.

What do you think?

In other movie news...the movie 300 opens today.

Quick synopsis courtesy of www.moviefone.com

"Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, '300' is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy."
